Ingredients
  

Apple Filling
  • 6 medium apples peeled and sliced
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
Oat Topping
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup melted butter

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Toss the sliced apples with the sugars, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, flour, and salt.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly into the baking dish.
  4. Combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and melted butter until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
