  1. Step 1: Preheat the Pan

    Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

    Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

    In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

    Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients

    In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.

    Step 4: Combine the Batter

    Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix β€” lumps are okay!

    Step 5: Cook the Pancakes

    Pour about ΒΌ cup batter per pancake onto the pan.Cook until bubbles form on top and edges look set (about 2–3 minutes). Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until golden brown.

    Step 6: Serve Warm

    Stack pancakes and serve with butter, maple syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
