Nachos
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 13-ounce bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup black beans drained
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • 1 jalapeño sliced
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions
Optional Toppings
  • Sour cream
  • Guacamole
  • Salsa
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the onion and garlic, then brown the ground beef.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  4. Layer tortilla chips, beef, beans, cheeses, olives, and jalapeños on a baking sheet.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Bake for 8–10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Top with tomatoes, green onions, and your favorite fresh toppings.
  8. Serve immediately.
